Circus Bookshelf aims to utilise and express the unique properties of one of the most intriguing geometric forms in mathematics - the circle. A circle exhibits infinite planes of reflection and rotation symmetry about the origin, offering untapped flexibility when it comes to design. This unique property is exploited in Circus Bookshelf through the intersection of four sets of concentric circles.

The circles that form the piece fit within one another, minimising waste in construction and allowing for the piece to dismantle and fit within the largest circle. Circus Bookshelf is also designed to be orientated in two ways giving the user an option of either a tall and narrow or short and long bookcase.

Ribbon Chair exploits the potential offered by high performance fibre reinforced concrete to create a piece of furniture unlike any other. At just 22mm thick, Ribbon Chair utilises the tremendous strength offered by concrete of this type to produce a thin and elegant form, in contrast to what one expects to see from concrete. A distinctive piece in any environment.

Stressed Storage stems from a desire to explore the stress and anxiety that is becoming increasingly prominent in our lives. Expressed in the form of mechanical stress, the components of Stressed Storage are subjected to high levels of tension and compression. The circular components are openable storage units held firmly in place by tensioned ropes.

Stressed Storage is an experimental piece with the potential to translate to a spectacular wall feature or room divider within a home, retail space or bar/restaurant.
